I am delighted to be the kindergarten teacher here at Saint Jude School. My years in kindergarten have taught me no matter how much experience a child has in day care or pre-school, kindergarten still represents an exciting new adventure! I love working with this age group because of their energy, enthusiasm and love of learning. I enjoy seeing my class blossom into confident learners who are ready for first grade.

Saint Jude offers a full day kindergarten program. My goal is to create a stimulating yet nurturing environment where children can develop academically, socially and spiritually. The kindergarten classroom is a dynamic blend of active and quiet, structure and flexibility, with whole group, small group and individual activities. The curriculum includes the areas of religion, language arts and literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, music, art, library, computer and physical education. In kindergarten, many of the domains of learning are interrelated and the subject matter can be woven into thematic units.

Not only is kindergarten a pivotal year for a child, it is also a milestone for parents. I believe it is important to build a home-school connection. Please look for the weekly edition of Kindergarten News and remember that no question is too small!

As a kindergarten teacher, I believe it is my responsibility to help each child have a positive and successful experience. This is an awesome task, but it is one that brings me much joy and satisfaction.
